At Gerry’s (Gerry, Daz, Herb & Kadon)

Withdrawing to the dormitory room, the crew took stock. Jaku healed Flynn. In the meanwhile, Ed dragged beds over to the door to barricade after Cel re-locked it – taking a little longer than expected, but getting there eventually.
Continuing the withdrawal, Ed untied the cell-door frame from the entrance into the altar room. Leading the team out, Cel scouted ahead, not finding any foes nearby. In the round room, Flynn recovered the other Elk mask (pair to the one worn by Durathror’s assailant). Cel again scouted forward – he found no danger, but observed tracks of at least one undying creature up the stairs, about 5 hours or so old. Preparing for 10 or so minutes, Durathror sought to detect magic on the items in the circular room – nothing appeared magical in nature.
Leaving the complex, Cel led the party out, finding trails evidencing the worms leaving for the horses and returning through brush near the base of the cliff; obviously the location of their entry and exit. Casi flew ahead, returning to advise that he could not see horses or cart at the ruins where they’d been tied up.
Arriving at the scene, the tracks appeared to tell a story of Cel’s horse defending the others while they broke free from their tethers and fled. Flying on, Casi found Ed’s horse and pony trekking towards Eichenfeld across the valley. Cel raced after the pony, being fleeted of foot, and most familiar with the handling of animals. Coming upon the horse, he attempted to soothe it, then resorted to sneaking up and lassoing it. Bringing pony and cart back to the group as they trudged along behind, Casi then flew out again, seeing Emilia’s horse to the west about 4 or so miles away. Emilia was prepared to leave the horse in preference to returning to Eichenfeld, so leave the horse they did.
The party trekked south, navigating around the location where they’d found the bear, and arriving at the logging coop around midday. Continuing on, they reached town around an hour later. Casi flew off to hunt. Durathror noticed Fasha at the gates, observing them then rushing away. As they came through the gates, they saw her entering the tavern.
As lunch was winding down, tables were still busy with sawmillers waiting on food. After some conversations, everyone (except Casi) reassembled at a table and discussed their options. Jaku queried Mila about Fasha – apparently Fasha had turned up in the morning, then left, not returning until when the party saw her.
Durathror asked Mila about whether she’d seen a half-elf (being the body found in the cellroom) in recent times, about 2-3 weeks ago. Mila had a vague recollection of seeing someone, but the inn was very busy, and they didn’t keep records of comings and goings. Durathror suggested a threesome with Flynn. Or maybe it just sounded that way to everyone else..
Durathror and Cel left to find Kristof. Jaku and Flynn asked Mila if she could send Fasha over. When she arrived, Jaku questioned her, Flynn twirling a dagger in his hand. Asking why she hadn’t been at the inn, she replied that she’d felt ill and had left shortly after arriving. Jaku then asked why they saw her at the gates – she admitted to watching for the party, and had been concerned for them. Jaku sensed she was nervous. Jaku then cast a spell, creating a zone of truth. Shaking off its effects, Fasha sensed the spell being cast, but remained at the table, repeating her earlier statements. Jaku and Flynn both thought that Fasha may have been indeed concerned for the party, or someone in it.
Durathror and Cel found Kristof. Speaking around the exact nature of their activities, they’d said they had found ruins of interest, and evidence of people around. Due to the late hour they’d camped overnight, with their horses being attacked by worm-like creatures, Durathror detailed the nature of the worms – Kristof wanted to know how far away, concerned for the safety of the town. They asked if he recalled the half-elf, telling him of the body they’d found in the ruins. He had some memory of the half-elf – he travelled through with caravans from time to time. He had no contacts in the town that Kristof knew of. On the last time through he’d had a younger half-elf with him.
Kristof then left to arrange an increase in the watch in case the worms had followed the party. Durathror and Cel discounted the possibility, then reconsidered. Perhaps they should keep an eye out tonight. They stopped by to see Benock on their return to the inn, Cel taking up the invitation to dine that evening.
